WOW! I did it, finally! I tried a tutor, a GED book, and even free online lessons. Nothing was working as well or as fast as I wanted for GED math prep. Then I stumbled onto this site, and figured it was a lot cheaper than a tutor, and buying book after book, so I gave it a shot. I started tutoring when I was a senior in high school. I have been periodically tutoring for over 20 years. I have worked with middle school children, high school children and adults. The topics I most enjoy teaching include pre algebra, geometry and algebra 1. I love being able to help individuals make a connection with the subject.
I have significant experience as both a one-on-one high school tutor during college and teaching high school students after college. I find that I am always able to make the material simple and relatable for the student that I am tutoring - it is a question of presenting the material in . In my seven years as math tutor, I’ve probably worked with twenty algebra books. Hands down, no contest, this is the absolute best I have used: Algebra: Structure and Method, Book 1.
